Decal transition from cold to hot works flawlessly. However, the mug itself is far from perfect. It's a very basic mug that can be found at your local dollar store for almost nothing, but I don't mind. What confuses me is that I immediately noticed 2 large dimples on the mug. So not only is the mug cheap, but it could also be a mug that was rejected by another seller. Since I bought the mug for myself I'll probably keep it for myself, but I wouldn't buy it as a gift for someone else. For the price I paid I am not impressed with the overall quality of the product.
