I've been on my feet for more decades than I care to admit. I had varicose veins (been under treatment for a long time but the pain is still a problem) so I've always been wearing compression stockings since the treatment. Each compression sock reduces discomfort. With a scientific mind, I was skeptical of my friends' claims that these copper-filled socks were better. But I bought a few to try. To my surprise, instead of one pair, there were eight in the package! So I gave my colleagues a few to try. At first I thought the relief from my leg pain was an accident. In the middle of an 11-hour workday, I felt a barely perceptible tingling in my legs. Three days later I was still experiencing the same thing. And I didn't have the constant throbbing at night that I've learned to live with. To my surprise, my colleagues were also differently satisfied. Out of the three I gave them to, two wanted to order and that says a lot. In fairness, the one who was indifferent is 30 years old and she is still not suffering as much as we, the elders. As long as they stand up to machine washing. I machine dry my compression stockings. I can't confirm how long it would take before my washes would break, but so far, after probably a dozen washes, they're holding up pretty well. I don't think they offer the same compression as medical ones but they seem to control swelling and pain so given the price I can change them more often if needed. The only negative I can say, and it's not really a negative, is that XL is too long. My height of 5ft 7in is not a barrier but the only real choice I had at the time of purchase.
