Review on Foam Pneumatic Walker Brace/Walking Boot By Aircast FP by Terry Keown

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not much cushioning on top of foot. Hurts and crushes my toes.

I had the same injury about 10 years ago and used what I thought was this boot. Turns out I had used the next step up from this one, the AirCast XP with 4 air cells. This one, the AirCast FP, has only 2 air cells and they are behind the ankle/leg only. There is not much padding on the front panel that you take off when you climb in and out of this model. It tends to compress my toes down, and they become numb after a little while, to the point where I have to loosen the toe strap for a bit. The "joint" in the plastic on the front piece is not padded very well either and it tends to dig in to the front of my leg underneath. I'm going to bite the bullet and order the AirCast XP for more comfort. If I can't keep this on very long, it's not going to do any healing. The price is great if you don't mind the discomfort, or if you can jerry-rig something to make it more comfortable. It's not returnable, but even with the cost of the 2 different models, it's still far less than what the ER wanted for the FP model.
