My 4 year old electronic bomber hit me and left me a beautiful 9.7 inch iPad with a broken screen. She proudly admitted that she was sitting on him and he was making an odd noise...despite the child's protective cover. Anyway, the glass break shouldn't have happened so I decided to try a DYI repair before throwing it away! I have no doubts about trying such a thing, because a cheap successful repair is like winning a new iPad! The bottom line is that me and the terrorist are back in business, so repairs can be made…….with diligent effort. The screen/tools package is $26. I can't believe that the Chinese can manufacture this iPad component plus tools at this price and ship it to my doorstep. and everything fits perfectly and works perfectly. Remember that any fast food burger is almost half the price of a hamburger, Coca Cola and fries, and you have to buy it! wTFlip? From my only iPad repair experience; (1) watch a few YouTube videos for YOUR specific model... this is the only way to minimize surprises and disassembly mistakes that can damage new and old parts, (2) be patient and work carefully... if you don't understand, how to apply it (or not) putting a lot of effort on microelectronic parts, glass, screws and connectors you can easily ruin your first repair flight, (3) the glue, The one Apple uses around the perimeter of the glass is grippy, but with heat and light even pressure with a screen removal tool that gives way... Adhesive residue is also difficult to remove from the case, but be patient and scrape carefully peel it off (very sparing use of rubber glue solvent helped), make sure the LCD screen is clean, remove the inner protective film from the new glass panel and press the screen into place. It's time to enjoy the glory of your new free iPad with DYI technology! I recommend this product and its use in repairs is possible but a little tedious. Much luck!
