This is a well designed fan. You can recognize a good bearing by the fact that it keeps turning after a power failure. The nuts they supply with their bolts are either locknuts or oversized bolt tips. It took a long socket to get past the first 1/4 inch of the screw and one of the Philips tips was almost snapped off. After that he turned well. Judging by the quality of the fan I would assume the fasteners have been quality checked. Tightening the fan does not require much effort. As for the volume it produces, it's definitely not quiet. If you're trying to move a decent amount of air and dB level isn't a concern, this seems like a good option. Update: 1238 was too loud for the project so we bought 1225. It's twice as thin and I think twice as quiet.
