My daughter was using my old iPad which wasn't in the best condition so I certainly didn't swap it out for a new one when it stopped working! I was looking at used ones and the price just hasn't come down enough to justify the cost so I've decided to switch to Android. She has a computer for school, so I saw no reason to stay on the Apple platform, especially as she only plays games and streams YouTube on it. So for our needs this was the perfect product at a great price. Pros: It's a lot faster than what you're used to browsing, and it does a great job of streaming. The internet connection is stable and reliable. For streaming and browsing, it's hard to beat in this price range. It's also slimmer and more compact. If you use this for travel, you'll appreciate this feature. The case is also durable, the manufacturer and reviews noted the lack of a cover. Maybe if my daughter were younger it would bother me more, but I love the volume and weight reduction that comes with it. It comes pre-loaded so we were able to set it up and use it right away. We don't understand Android products very well, so I was a bit intimidated, but even I could grasp the basics right away. It's not that different. Setup was easy and the battery is stable with daily use and overnight charging. It is very well packaged with clear instructions and charging accessories. Cons: Little storage space. That's true, but there are other Android products that offer more, but you'll pay for it. I couldn't help but go back to the old numbers when I first shopped. My daughter watched the digital copies of the movies we stored on her iPad over and over again, but I doubt she's seen even a movie in a few years. Her needs have changed so there was no point in spending extra money if she was just streaming. Another thing is durability without a cover. I'm not worried about this because my daughter is quite mature and responsible, but if you can't get it, I'm worried that younger children can take care of this product. I don't know if there are cases that are compatible with this, but that's not a problem for me, but it might be a problem for some buyers. Verdict: If you're considering a tablet primarily for streaming and browsing, this is an affordable and solid choice. It's also great for travel as it's more compact and slimmer than the iPad. You don't need to be familiar with the Android platform, I wasn't and my daughter certainly wasn't, but it's more than you might think. If you can operate the touchscreen, everything is fine.
