In short, the child dropped the phone on the floor at the store, returned home, the pen was not on my Note 8. I have this one replacement ordered. From the box everything looks fine, looks the same as before although a slightly different colour. I read reviews from people saying it won't stay in the phone so I put it in. No problem. A few days later I actually use what I usually do, crop part of the screen into an image. That's where it went wrong. The tip material here is different than the OEM. It either doesn't recognize a touch or thinks you've double-tapped, by selecting a tiny area of the screen. This is useful if you're super careful, but forget to match the screen to the crop, it's such a pain in the ass. Then the kid dropped the phone on the floor of the house, I'm going to pick it up, the pen jumped out. I checked how much force it takes to push it out and it's not that much.
