Genuine leather belt, very stiff. I had to spend quite a bit of time massaging it so it had some flexibility. The buckle looked goofy. Chintzy like school playsuit quality. I threw it away almost immediately and bought a nicer one. The belt itself cost about the same, so there wasn't a huge loss. All in all, it's likely that if you pay more you'll get a higher quality product, but the belt itself was fine.
