Review on ๐ŸŽต Yosoo LP Digital Turntable Stylus Scale Gauge with LED Display for MM/MC/MI and Piezoelectric Acoustical Pickup - Professional New Version by Christopher Isaac

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice surprise, works great!

I recently stumbled across my 1980's Dual CS-500 turntable in a closet with a Shure V15 VMR cartridge. Miraculously it still works, but I was just guessing at downforce as I couldn't find the little seesaw-like device I last used to make this adjustment. I decided to spend $10 and buy a new one and was surprised to find a digital scale in this price range. The scale arrived perfectly calibrated to weigh 5 grams. Scales only weigh up to 5 grams and this is normal. It turned out that my downforce was set to 3.5g (too much) and it was easy, bring it down to the 1.75g downforce offered by Shure with that scale and it all sounds great. Very satisfied. The only problem was that with this player, the stylus automatically falls off when the disc speed stabilizes, so I couldn't put a wheel on the disc. I tried turning off the power and the player won't drop the needle. I figured I'd have to remove the disc (it's a belt drive so it's a bit of a pain) but this device turned out to barely fit outside the disc and I still managed to convince the turntable to to lower it with a pen. So bonus points for being compact enough to be able to do that. is quite troublesome), but it turned out that this device barely fits in the off-platter area, and I was still able to convince the player to put the stylus on it.
