A modern classic with a nice update or two.

I have been using the BRS 3000 oven for 3 years and I am very satisfied with it. This oven is exactly the same. With a few improvements. First off, the red anodizing on the valve body looks cool! A small thing, I know, but still. Second, the hard plastic carry case is a massive improvement over the bright green BRS cloth case. I've always hated putting the oven in and out of this bag, always catching my hands on the dangling threads. Yes, I could leave it at home and forgo the bag, but it gives me a handy place to keep a spare o-ring that I'm always afraid of losing. So why not? I can still fit my entire kitchen kit into my 750ml Titanium Pot: stovetop, 4-ounce can of fuel, mini-bike, small washcloth, microfiber washcloth, and some small binding clips (1001 times). and weighs almost nothing. The plate itself is amazing! Less than 1 ounce (1.3 with housing and spare O-ring!) boils 2 cups of water in about 3.5 minutes (field conditions). Tiny form factor. What's not to like? A few caveats: you definitely need some kind of windshield/windscreen. The stove is very sensitive to wind. I sit behind a large rock/boulder or log if there is one. Otherwise I use my foldable seat cushion. NEVER use a solid metal windscreen around a canister stove as they can divert heat into the canister and very bad things can happen. You must use a fairly small pan for this oven. I have found that a 1100ml pot with a base of about 5-6 inches is about the right size to handle, in size and most importantly in weight. bend under load. I have found the 750ml pot to be the optimal size and weight for the oven. For the above reasons, this may or may not be the best cooker for beginners. If you want to slow down your roll a bit, use a smaller and lighter pan, and learn how best to soften the wind, then this is one of the best stoves. valuable ounces/grams, look no further.
