I originally bought this type of connection to solve an issue - the micro USB charging port on my daughter's yoga book would not charge with any of our regular cables. While researching this solution, I found these awesome gadgets! Basically you leave the port silent. The small plug is magnetic and can be easily connected with the supplied cable. The connector comes in handy for charging ports that are a little loose or damaged, but it's also effective at keeping dirt out. If your device has a hefty case, the cover on this port may not close completely, but that doesn't bother me. I also like to use it for our PS4 controllers so the kids don't fiddle with the connectors. . It's a great solution for those easy-to-break charging ports and is no longer limited to micro-USB connections. Finding USB-C and Apple Lightning connectors is easy. A word of caution, and less negative than warning, if you attempt to remove the connector USE the plastic tool provided. If you try to knock it out with other tools, the connector may break. The included tool works great!
