I bought this USB fan to run on battery power to keep me cool on the go. I tested this for use while camping. It's very quiet and moves a small amount of air, but you have to be within a foot of the fan to really appreciate the wind. Power consumption seems pretty low for something that runs constantly. I believe the lack of a derailleur is what you're used to and means fewer things to break and less expense. It can be bent a lot to redirect flow, so a 90 degree bend isn't a problem. The blades are hard plastic but don't really hurt when you hit them. The only downside I found wasn't the fan but the battery I used because one of those was a lipstick battery and I wanted to put it on my chest and because it was round it didn't stay in place . I have a larger gaming deck where the fan blows comfortably in my face. Just something to think about if you plan on using this outside and working hands-free.
