TERRIBLE base quality that makes everything unusable

It seemed great at first but doesn't seem as easy to set up as advertised. It wasn't easy to get each of the spikes to stick out. Mine often seemed to jam the base's automatic locking mechanism and if it did I would have to spend 5+ minutes wrestling with the huge thing to get a rod to work properly. I had to pray that the others wouldn't jam. I think it's good that it only lasted 3 uses because it broke after a week. It wasn't even from what I was doing. As this was my first large softbox I followed the instructions but one of the button holders you press to force the back to snap broke completely when it snapped in the metal rendering the button completely unusable. This back is useless and therefore everything is useless. Look at the attached picture to see the ridiculous use of this very cheap aluminum prone to breakage for such an important part in an otherwise good product (softbox material, cones and spikes themselves were fine) . I had high expectations as I spent significantly more than competitors to sell similar products for half the price of this thing, but the hassle of installing and removing, the unreliability of installation (installation can take 10 or 30 minutes last) and cheap quality base makes it a no-no. This leads me to affirm that I should be buying from a more reputable company and not the outrageous third-party knockoff Aputure from a budget Chinese company (not that all Chinese products are bad, mind you).
