These are waders so they're just above the knee man they're warm and comfy. The price is excellent at the time of writing this review. They are made by Carolina Hosiery Factories, they also produce not so high above the calf models. They're thick and warm, not as dense as the Darn Tough Climbing Socks, which are also great, but the Darn Tough Socks make a great compression sock for large calves. Remember that if you have skinny legs, these are like leggings for men. They seem to get even better after washing. I don't like things like that either, standard wash, high speed drying.
