Review on Nexcare Tegaderm Transparent Dressing Inches by Daniel Bulkley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great bandage for most cuts and bruises at home.

Better than patches for cuts and any area you want to protect from dirt. When used correctly, they provide a nearly watertight seal. You can shower with them, but they're starting to peel off at the edges. I usually use them on my fingers when I get small cuts. I simply wrap the Tegaderm around my finger, close the incision, and tie off the ends. It's flexible enough to bend your fingers at the knuckles. I can wash my hands with Tegaderm applied and it usually lasts about a day. Another advantage is that you can still see the wound under Tegaderm. It appears to "breathe" because underneath it doesn't seem to stay wet. This is not suitable for wounds with a lot of discharge, but if it is moderate you can place a small piece of gauze underneath to soak up drainage while protecting the wound. Chewing gum is quite sticky but leaves no residue REMOVED.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Good, but not great
