Update: emailed the company because the clamp on my deep desk edge was not working. Your sent ring can be used as a base for free. Wow. I am impressed with their solution to my problem. They even added a lighted mini magnifying glass which my wife loves. 5 star build quality is very good. The light selection is good and it does a great job of illuminating small objects with a ring of light. I like that it can be powered from a USB port or a power outlet. The magnification is ok, not as great as I expected, but with a large lens you can work on a fist-sized object and see everything. They offer a screw clamp mount, which is probably fine if your desk is only 1 1/2 inches thick but my office furniture is closer to 3 inches. I would buy a weighted base if offered. The company stuff says they email if they have any problems - just send them a message. It's not built for heavy office standards, but it certainly exceeds what you'd expect from home use. Screws, springs, square tube construction, 4.4 inch lens all look good. You have exceeded my expectations. I would say this would be a great light for hobbyists who need good lighting and magnification. Maybe people who knit bow ties or solder them. Great to see a splinter. I am satisfied with the product and look forward to many years of service. I might get one of my sons-in-law for Christmas. The box it comes in is well made and easy to ship, just a brown clamshell box where the money is spent on quality not marketing stuff on the outside.
