This headband is very soft and holds securely, but it doesn't absorb much moisture from my hair - it pulls slightly less water from my hair than a regular towel used as a hand towel .wrapper. Part of the problem may be that I have short hair and not much snagging in the very tightly curled part, but I expected it to still absorb water when wrapped tightly around my head. It's less bulky than a regular towel, so I use it to keep my hair damp until I'm ready to blow-dry it, or over dry hair to keep it dry and out of the way when showering or applying makeup . I do not recommend it for drying real hair.
