Review on 🌈 Colorful Montessori Wooden Building Blocks: Balancing Stacking Stone Rocks for Toddlers & Kids, Ages 3 and Up by Jen Smith

When I ordered this for my little one I thought there might be more in it. just rocks. In fact, they are rectangular blocks of wood with beveled edges. You can stack them on any of the 6 sides as they still have a 90 degree angle. They were supposed to be covered in paint or some kind of coating, but one of them was "raw" with jagged edges that required additional sanding. They come in 3 sizes - 4 large, 14 medium and 18 small (at least for me). Some colors are not large in size, and the distribution between sizes is not evenly distributed. If you're more prone to OCD, it can leave you scratching your head. I thought there was an explanation for the games or activities you can do with it, but that wasn't the case. There's nothing you can do about it other than add or sort by color or count. It would be better if there were numbers or letters printed on it so you could at least spell the words or something. Also, one page mentioned that they didn't contain any chemicals, which is not true. They are colored. Color is a chemical. To their credit, at least the wood blocks appear to be solid, not laminated. For $10, that's iffy. With a triple total, this is an easy pass. It may have been made in the midst of an era of lumber inflation, but it's hard to justify the cost given how one-dimensional it is. 3 stars because the title says "stone" and that's what you get. If for some reason you want three sizes of colored bricks that are rectangular blocks, these will do (even if you pay more).
