I chose this setting to have an easily accessible USB port for using my Yubikey as a login for my Windows PC and all other key secured accounts. My previous experience with these braided USB cables has been poor. They flexed, but didn't last very long. Although I haven't had them for a long time and this particular cable I use for my desktop doesn't move much, these cables are almost twice the diameter of other braided cables I've had trouble with in the past. Now I can't say for sure until one breaks and I see the inside, but I suspect they have more plastic/rubber coating on the cable than the ones you see that don't have a material braid. If that's the case and then a braid is added to this 'more normal' cable, I'd say they would be pretty solid for portable or more exercise-oriented use. I haven't tested data rates or anything to comment on as my use is purely for security but otherwise they fit for a decent price per pair.
