Didn't know what to expect. Read the review of RL-18 beforehand. In general I am satisfied. It's certainly a lot cheaper than other lighting options. It's very bright with easy to use brightness and frequency controls. The board is good too. I mount my DSLR in the middle and am a bit worried about the plastic mount. I tried using a pan head from another device but the plastic on the shoe mount was too thick. I'm tired of risking a $2,000 camera. But everything should be ok. Desk mount is ok. I'm still trying to find the optimal height.
