This item is simply amazing Although the material is NOT absorbent (it's a thin, velvety material - similar to a Halloween costume), the material ensures that it gets everywhere finished hair should not be disturbed by wearing it. I would recommend that you use it when applying makeup or cosplay, but not when washing your face. You can even wear this for a long period of time and I don't think it will harm your hair. ALL headbands give me a headache - even most glasses. The launch took the longest - about 2 hours. The slight headache I had from wearing the bandage was gone after removing the bandage. The elastic is strong enough to stay on your head but not too strong to hurt most people. This bandage fits most people. I think it's small enough to be a good fit for an older child - say around 10 years old - and most small adults. I don't think it's small enough to work with a toddler. I'm not sure if that's enough for a tall male with an unusually large head, because the velvety material doesn't stretch, only stretches at the base.
