Photos speak for themselves! Reliable and amazing way to dye your clothes

Words cannot express how satisfied I am with this tie dye kit! I'm going to give you the full experience here so buckle up, get ready and everything you need to know about this set. Conclusion, for those who don't want to read my entire review, this is a GREAT starter kit. for those who want to tie-dye. Instructions are clear, it has everything you need, and there are tons of resources online. I dyed my tie for the first time and the results were amazing. Just take non wet and dry designs (more on that later - see images) and suggest buying another set for the full rainbow color palette. (I bought this set called the Ultimate Kit and Rainbow Kit at a local craft store. Believe it or not, Revain's prices are cheaper than Michael's.) I'd also like to invest in some extras to help you get the job done facilitate. eg: shower curtain liner from the dollar store - this made sure everything was covered with drying towels "color catcher" if you had to rinse shirts in the dryer (I explain lots of old plastic bags later in the review the whole experience - brace yourself Okay, as I said, I'm totally new to tie-dyeing, I only knew the concept because I've seen it at day camps and Girl Scouts, but I've never done it on my own or the kit states that it does there's enough dye for 30 projects - which to me is an overstatement unless you're dyeing small items like socks, I'd say one kit is enough to safely dye 20 adult shirts, filled with powder dye, and then there there is an extra pack of each color. As I said, I also bought a rainbow kit to get a good choice of colors. Between the final nye kits and a rainbow kit you have to have a take it with you, but Tulip has so many complementary color kits that it's definitely worth checking out their selection. Orange wasn't in either of those two sets, but I had two yellow ones, so I mixed some red paint into one of the yellow bottles to make it orange. Full disclosure here: This project is DIRTY and TAKES TIME. I highly recommend doing this outside, but if you can't make sure everything is closed. This paint is specifically made to stick to fabric rather than leather or plastic, but there is a chance it will rub off, so of course cover the bases and be careful. I dyed six t-shirtsβ€”four for adults, two for teens (or youuuts, for My Cousin Vinny fans)β€”and four jumpsuits, and I had enough color to finish a few more t-shirts. I ended up shedding the extra dye as Tulip says the concentration will wear off within 24-72 hours. After using half of each set, I had 10 packs of paint left for another day. In general, the project took two days. It shouldn't take two days, you can do it faster, but I took my time to get it right. I started by picking an outdoor area and covering everything with an old shower curtain sheet. I used a metal dish rack to dye the shirts so the dye could run off and not soil any shirt I had dyed. Also, I steamed the t-shirts before starting the project as instructed in the instructions - PLEASE take a look at this because my first two t-shirts weren't damp enough (they were drier) and the design was nice , but didn't come out as cool or classic... like wet shirts. The shirt needs to be wet for this classic tie-dye curl. The brochure says to prewash them in the machine, but I just soak them under the sink. In my photos, two youth shirts were made dry and the design looked more like broken glass, while the wet ones were more washed out and had a real whirl. The design turned out great! The final kit will come with a booklet of helpful design tips, but there really are no limits and your design may vary based on your choices. Pay attention to complementary colors and how colors mix - for example, blue next to yellow makes green, and so on. There were plenty of elastics in the kit to hold the shirts together and several pairs of disposable gloves to keep your hands clean - wearing gloves is a MUST! Impressive, I have UV gel nails and got a little smudged on my fingertips but my nails are fine - the paint didn't stain them permanently which I was very happy about. T-shirt, select design, compress shirt into desired pattern, secure with rubber bands, dye to your heart's content, place in a plastic bag for at least 6 hours, then rinse and wash. I put the shirts in old supermarket plastic bags and left them out for 24 hours. I wanted to wash them that evening, but I didn't have time. It doesn't matter - on the finished project the color came out very saturated and I'm very pleased. It took me about two hours to paint 10 items and another hour and a half to wash them on the outside. When it came time to rinse them out, I used a hose and bucket to really get the paint out. The directions say to rinse until clear, but no matter how many times I rinsed, the color still stayed. Again, this dye didn't discolor the plaster, which I was very happy about. I then ran them in a cold water circuit with colored sheets - a MUST! You have to wash these shirts individually, but that's a waste for me. These color capture sheets have made life so much easier. They catch excess dye in the wash so the shirts don't run into each other. I was a bit cautious and used 24 color grab sheets (a whole small box) but it was worth it because the water in the wash was VERY dark to begin with and the sheets immediately lightened the water. The color fades a bit. Once everything is washed and dried but damn they turned out so damn cool and I can't wait to do it again. Like I said, watch some videos online to really improve your craft. They're such a fun way to spend a summer's day and they make a great gift!
