I have been using these straw brushes for about 2 months, about once every 4 days. They won't rust, the bristles hold best if you touch them lightly and let the brush do all the work for you. Otherwise, too much pressure will cause the bristles to wear out quickly. I use them to clean the spouts in my guinea pig 3 water bottles. I was also able to bend a brush into a circle and use it in the conical neck of the bottle (if that matters to you). shape - like me. They rinse fast and clean, I hang mine next to the sink to dry. Nice plastic tip on the wire end of the brush, no sharp metal tips/edges. I would recommend.
