The clear plastic sheet seemed to peel off easily as it blistered around the edges but no, it stuck in sections like glue and over half the sign has this horrible smudge. It's as if you can see where the clear coat is the oil stain. So I have to take something else. I have two other same size gate close signs and the same removable protective cover and nothing hangs like this cover. Obviously something is wrong with the production. UPDATE: About 11 days later I received a replacement for this badge from the shipper. They sent me two yellow signs and one red one. I peeled off the film and yes the same situation. So I appreciate the replacement but ended up with the same defective sign.
