This particular model of Dell AC adapter has a horribly imperfect design. I now have about six devices, all of which have bitten the bullet. The soldered connections to the actual 3-pin power cord connector break very easily, and I believe the caps inside may also be faulty out of the box - one of which immediately shorted out the logic board in one of my e6420s. I strongly encourage all customers to purchase the Dell model DA130PE1-00 (aka PA-3E) power supply instead. It's bigger but much stronger. Of the ones I had (this model was sold with my e6420 laptops), only one died, and it was due to its own stupidity (overheating and swelling of the lid). I have ordered another one to replace the last order of this model (L90PE1-0). Two other devices died after a few weeks due to stress on the AC socket. this model.
