advantages: 1. no waste paper 2. no paper taste3. lets more coffee oils through (and the coffee tastes better)4. suitable for Fine5 coffee machine. easy to clean (just slip it upside down under the sink) Cons: 1. Larger holes than paper makes the coffee very weak, especially in small batches. I've tried setting the grind to a very fine grind (almost like espresso) which helps, but it's still nowhere near as strong as a standard medium grind paper filter. Holding up so far but seems like it will break if I over wash it.
