Review on 🐠 hygger Aquarium Programmable LED Light: Full Spectrum Plant Fish Tank Light with LCD Display and 7 Colors for Novices and Advanced Players by Kayla Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

With 4, works with a 150 gallon deep tank (fresh water)

My show tank, 2x2x5, uses 4 of these, the timer is good as all the lights switch within a few seconds of the others. The light keeps my bottom plants (and floats) alive. Due to the 5ft length I couldn't install long blocks and get the light I needed so I ended up with a size that could be butted together. The tank was originally for salt water and had two metal halides and they got hot, 6 fans in the hood, one of the ballasts failed so on a better day I ordered the 1st pair they used on the side where the ballast was dimmed / die . I switched to freshwater due to frequent power outages mowing down sea creatures for 3 years in a row. The fish looked better, the aquarium was cooler, the plants were alive and energy consumption was significantly reduced. If successful I have ordered 2 more (when the size was back in stock). Happy with the results. But why 4 stars? Well the first pair is great, it took me a while to get a feel for the controls and timing settings but once I did they were champions. The 2nd set is not the same, one of them has a green light in a row of blue ones in night mode. None of the newer ones would reset an SOP and if the cable is disconnected they will lose their settings, although for short term outages they will remember the time if the cable is not disconnected. A little more work but they do what I want and will buy them again (just hope they like the original set better). Finally, the light is good for freshwater fish and plants, may even suffice for some marine purposes. I would not recommend it for use with coral unless it is a very shallow tank.
