Has worked normally for a week. Then VGA stopped showing the external monitor. Then external hard drives on USB ports began to be removed. Then they were no longer fully recognized. Then everything stopped working. Update: This answers that. Apple just released an update to prevent damage from such devices causing the exact problem I was having. In the end, the correct USB-C port, which I was only using for this, failed on a brand new MacbookPro that's a month old. I tried another port on the right (two available at a time). How do you know the other port went down after a week? Took it to Apple for repairs. They confirmed the port failure and had to send it in for full repair. Got it back and they replaced the entire logic board, TouchID board and I/O board. Luckily it was under warranty but that would have been thousands of out of pocket losses PLUS thousands of lost business in two weeks without my computer being fixed. 👎🏻 If that's the reason, maybe because of excessive power consumption? The hub is powered, so it "charges" the computer, but not enough during use to maintain full performance. Since it drains slowly, you also need to connect another cable just for power. So if you don't want him to die, there are 1.5 power packs.
