The old adage "you get what you pay for" seems like a pretty typical answer that I think a fairly serious music listener (not necessarily a music lover) could give when trying out these headphones. This purchase of Sony headphones (generally my favorite brand) was a little cheaper than usual and the difference in sound quality is immediately and clearly noticeable. Bass and bass are tight and muddy - the mids (particularly) and treble can't even remotely satisfy the casual listener (in quiet environments). Considering the low price, the sweetest comment I could offer is that you'll have something relatively "reasonable" relatively cheap to keep you going until you're able and willing, just a few bucks more shell out whatever you want. and not just agree. If I had bought them in a store I would probably try to return them.
