Pay attention to the depth of field; Understand how to fold

Just thought I'd comment on something I haven't seen anywhere in the reviews. The backdrop is very comfortable, but the muslin (due to the way it folds) always wrinkles. If you use a black background, make sure it's far enough away from the background that the creases are blurred (I assume overexposure on a brightly lit white background will hide the creases, but if your lighting isn't bright enough is white can also be a problem). I had to remodel my home studio as soon as I saw the problem and as my space is limited I can't really move it back far enough to completely hide them. . The "blur wrinkles" give the background a slight texture that is acceptable to my eye, although not in the way I originally intended. How far back depends on a variety of factors, including the brightness of your lighting (brighter light = smaller aperture = greater depth of field). With my setup I had to move it 3 feet behind the subject which is all the space I have and I would have preferred to have a foot more. FOLDING INSIGHT added December 2012: I recently gained background knowledge in this area for the first time. and had to fold it. Despite watching several different YouTubes, this proved quite difficult (as others have pointed out). However, after a lot of trial and error (mostly bugs) I found something that helped me stack things consistently once I figured it out. The back frame is a flat metal band sewn into the inside of the muslin. Think of it as the "outer" surface and the "inner" surface. When folding an item, it is important to grip the elastic tightly enough so that it does not twist. Hold the outside of the ribbon against the palms of BOTH hands as you fold the background. This causes the background to curl into a round shape that needs to be reinserted into the case. If the ribbon is curled in the muslin so that one hand is pressed against the original "outside" and the other hand against the original "inside" (which it "wants"), the background will not curl and will remain an awkward and stubborn object . It takes quite a bit of hand and arm strength to do this job: I'm 6ft 3in, strong build (despite being 60) and I found it quite challenging. I am sure that many people will find it difficult or even impossible to discard cards. itself.
