Delayed Hatch Rate in Science Kits and Toys
The hatch time appears to be significantly longer than what is listed in the kit. Only one egg hatched in the first 2-3 days. It appears that hatching can optimally occur above room temperature. I raised the temperature in the room they were in to 80 and the hatch rate went up. I've hatched over a dozen now. However, the instructions state that hatching is "instant" at room temperature, which was misleading in my case.
