I use plastic containers for the small caterpillars til when they become stage 5 and ready to pupate. The tops of these give plenty of room for about 16-20 chrysalis's. I got this cage for my monarch caterpillars after an assassin bug killed several on my swamp milkweed. I moved 12 of them inside, and got this cage for the bigger caterpillars, so they didn't harm the little guys. Perfect for teaching kids the butterfly lifecycle! We collected caterpillars from our own garden at the school and watched them grow , flourish and change into a Butterfly! The kids loved seeing the process and were excited to release them! This habitat was light, easy to carry, easy to clean and easy to store away when not in use.

I'm 23 i bought this for myself. It was super fun to catch the caterpillars and watch them grow but also lowkey traumatizing and scary. Unfortunately the ones i picked up out in the yard were wildin as heck and there were episodes of death, cannibalism, and some gruesome post-crysalis fluids. I put a 24 inch plastic plant saucer in the bottom to make cleaning up poop easier. Just wipe up. I also used milkweed cuttings and poked them through a lidded plastic bowl so I did not have to worry about watering, which was a bonus because the root in water, and increased my plants. Everything worked well. Placed inside in a not drafty area away from a/c vent. Granddaughter loved it!

My first year raising Monarchs and this habitat was not only responsible in price but works great. While my 5 babies are now in their chrysalis awaiting their final transformation once released I can easily clean and pack this away for next season

#1 - when it arrived it was tightly folded and appeared VERY small. When we opened the package, it popped right up and wow! It's big enough to fit a decent sized Milkweed plant! Making our job that much easier. We've got the plants, now we need the babies! It comes with a little instruction booklet and guide for raising butterflies and instructions fo opening, closing the enclosure. We are anxious to get started and had ordered 2 to begin with. This was great!

Works great for raising Monarchs. Raised about 100 Monarchs in this net. Plenty big enough. Easy to view and easy access.

Perfect habitat for keeping eggs, caterillars, chrysalis & butterflies safe during it's life cycle. I can even keep it outside.under the picnic table umbrella (so as to not get direct sun or rain. But fresh air)

Collapsible square enclosure is great for a couple caterpillars to eat while they prepare to become a butterfly!Seems pretty sturdy and well made for what it is. I will likely purchase the larger enclosure from the same seller for next year!

This cage works great for classrooms/teachers for raising caterpillars into butterflies. We placed a milkweed plant in it and the students could observe the changes over time. It's easy to open and water the plant.

This was very easy to use, visability was very good, my grandkids loved it! I will use it again next year. The mesh openings are too large, allowing smaller insects to escape.
