This is a perfect enclosure for futterflies as my littles call them. We had a few caterpillars we needed to keep enclosed while they made their transition and this was it! There is a viewing side which makes it very easy to see what's going on inside and the zipper is large enough to put the larger potter milkweed plant inside. Both of my Carolina praying mantis oothecae hatched! This habitat was the perfect size. I put a small potted plant inside the enclosure with the egg sacs attached to a stick and put the stick in the soil of the potted plant. I kept this on a window sill indoors until they hatched. Once they hatched I took the entire thing out to my raspberry patch and unzipped it for them to go feast on the spotted lanternfly nymph infestation. I found an egg and multiple caterpillars on my marsh milkweed. I kept adding fresh leaves to a sturdy mason jar of water. I put multiple layers of paper towel in the bottom so that I could take out one sheet each day to remove the poops. It is recommended that you raise an outdoors but then you need rocks or to tie it down so the wind doesn't tilt it. This is an excellent cage! I use it for praying Mantids, and the wingless fruitflys they eat. The cage has outstanding sheerness, and breathing ability while keeping everyone inside. The two zippers and stitching are made extremely well, and come together so tight that nothing, not even fruit flys are able to escape. The top of the cage is some type of plastic that makes it very easy to see whatever is inside. The cage is also very roomy. I love this cage, and highly recommend it.

This is the smaller tent but it's all you need to protect caterpillars so they can make it through metamorphosis into moth or butterfly form. We purchased three to protect Monarch caterpillars from wasps. Thankfully, they work well. However, they are hard to clean well, as droppings are both on the bottom, and in the pots holding the plants. This has been the best solution so far. However, I would prefer planting the milkweed, and placing these over the plant, anchoring them down from the wind, and able to lift off. Bought for homeschooling our 6 year old. Such a cute butterfly habitat to learn the stages of butterfly growth. The cage may not provide enough ventilation for the insects inside!

I bought this smaller size to house just a few caterpillars while my larger enclosure was in use. It works just fine similar to the larger one.

This was great for my monarchs! My plant fit in perfectly. It wasn't too huge, and I was able to monitor them through the clear window.

I found the big fat caterpillars in my carrots and after doing some searching on the internet, found they were Swallowtails. I put them in some gallon containers and decided to purchase this to give them more room. Just beautiful . . I am looking forward to next summer and more butterflies.
