I'll say right away that I don't drink coffee. However, I really enjoy making coffee for my significant other (I'm still trying). We have Chemex for the house but needed something that would be good for camping (disposable bags and a french press just didn't work). We need look no further. This thing is amazing! The coffee is consistently delicious and easy to make if you follow simple steps (which only need to be reminded 2 times). Aside from making a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, on a cold morning out on a hike, it's just amazing to keep the coffee warm and grab a cup and go hiking. We looked at the AeroPress, but what attracted us was the heat retention of the mug and the compactness of the entire device, no need for additional mugs. I've seen a few reviews where people had trouble spinning. This has only happened to me once (and even then my 8 year old was still able to spin it) and I think it has to do with the position of the pod. Just make sure ALL the bubbles are removed before you start the extraction. Do not be shy. I promise you won't be disappointed! ps For the manufacturer reading this. The only thing that would make it even better than perfect is a lid with a drinking hole.
