They are great for making maps as they don't require measuring/estimating.
They are great for map making as they eliminate the need for measuring/estimating when layering and are great for quickly cutting out sentiment maps. This speeds up the card making process, which is very handy for a slow card maker like me. I like them so much I bought the circles too and sold my old set of circles to Sizzix.
