After reading tons of other reviews and using Fakespot I decided to order this rug to make sure the negative reviews are still accurate. It was wavy and didn't lay flat. Neither seemed to be the case for me It was rolled up as expected but fully unfolded immediately upon being removed from the unexpectedly beautiful case It was in pristine condition, as to be expected from new There were no obvious odors that I I put my nose in then yes I can smell rubber but other than that I personally don't smell it. The pad is beautifully finished and offers a great mouse surface. I use a Logitech MX Vertical mouse. The mouse also did not function normally and did not lag or stutter in any way. Accuracy was just as good as my previous reflex mat. The edges of the rug are sewn and overall the construction is good. The pad is quite thin compared to the Reflex lab mat I had before. This pad is around 3mm thick while Reflex is closer to 5mm thick. Reflex also has a nicer and thicker rim. Of course, reflex pads cost 40% more, so that makes sense. I work with many people around the world and I was drawn to having time zones in front of me. Google search saves me. I can't vouch for other designs, but this black and white card is great and not overly intrusive or distracting. Overall I think the value is worth it. If quality and durability are your top requirements, reflex pads are some of the best I've tried, but I doubt they cost 40% more if you tend to overuse your pads. I love this mat and it will be my daily driver until I wear it out.
