Works as intended. It's that easy to install. We had AAA batteries (not included). A small light stick is placed in the bowl (roughly, but necessary) and the sensor pointed outward, where you would normally enter. It detects the light and won't turn on when the bathroom light is on, and the motion sensor works like a charm when the light is off. This little thing will make it easier for you to go to the bathroom at night because you no longer have to turn on the ceiling light and wake up completely to go. :) We turned off the lights and closed the door to see the thing in action as it cycled through all the colors. That is very nice!
