The iPad came in a large box with no extra padding, just a small box in a much larger one. When I ordered they said the battery was 80% charged, probably didn't think so, didn't expect it to be completely dead. So I plugged in the included adapter and cable, and it immediately damaged the iPad and killed the cable. I had to get a new one. I did a hard reset to erase everything else that was loaded on it (applications and software). iPad dies when battery life is 50%.
