Update: Well, after a few months of use, I have two major problems. First, battery life seems to be shrinking. I only see about 4 days not about a week. Not the end of the world, but worth mentioning. The charger also plugs in, but I have to unplug and plug it back in several times to charge it. There were at least 2 times it didn't happen and I threw it in a box and gave up. Second, the stupid proprietary group keeps failing. I've been going through at least 1 set every 2-3 weeks because the weird connector fails and the band stops working. It seems that from my experience with Ionic, Fitbit is still almost a good watch and vice versa. Hopefully the Google acquisition will fix the remaining problems. Background: I've had an Ionic for about 2 years and we all know what it was like. When it worked, it was great, but it had its downsides. My first Ionic took about 5 months. and Fitbit sent me a replacement that lasted another 18 months. This Ionic died in late July 2020. So I did a big upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, which cost me nearly $500 after tax. After a month I absolutely hated it and was sick that I had spent so much. I couldn't get more than a day of battery life, it was impractical, and honestly I just don't see the value they offer over Fitbit-type smartwatches. To make matters worse, after a month the watch was down about $75 and the resale value was only about $275. So I lost my shirt on this watch. Review: After dropping the GW3, I chose the Versa 3 over the Sense as I don't think the extra sensor is worth the extra cost for my use case. Still has built in GPS which is great and everything I know and love from Fitbit. Despite all the negative reviews about this watch, I find it amazing. The display is bright and smooth, comfortable, and there can be a slight lag in the OS, but to be honest, it's a FITBIT, it doesn't freeze all the time, it's just a minor infrequent hiccup. As does my $500 GS3. Most importantly, I don't have to carry my charger with me at all times as I can get +/- 5 days of charging depending on GPS usage etc. So for those Fitbit lovers looking to upgrade, or for those who want a smart smartwatch or a fitness tracker, this is for you. It's a GS3 watch or an Apple watch, no. But in my opinion they are not trying to be something they are not. You don't need a lot of gaming apps on your watch. That's what your $1,000 phone is for. A watch is a tool that complements your phone. I recommend it to anyone who wants to buy it.
