They run true to size and are easy to slip on and off. My child (6 years) can put them on and take them off by himself and they fit. The colors are fun and they match most of his beach gear. The thickness and quality is more like a regular shoe than the flat version of the stretchy water sock I've become accustomed to lately. I'm glad they look more like the classic chunky water shoes I wore in the 90's. I like that they have a hard sole. We have a short walk from my mother's house to the beach around the corner and down the street, So he has to walk the sidewalks and the parking lot before he hits the sand. We also have 'hot sand' up on the beach which kids don't like and of course there are shells, rocks and horrible crabs that can cut your foot if you're not careful. This is a good preventive measure to prevent tears before they happen.
