Review on LEECRAFT RIDGID R4512 Zero Clearance Insert by Tony Flugence

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits like a glove, don't forget to think of your riving knife!

I had to buy two, the first crashed during installation, but this is entirely my fault. I put it on the saw, laid the board along the blade and clamped it. There was resistance as I lifted the spinning blade, but I didn't realize what was happening until the insert itself ruptured and flew through the magazine. Problem? I did not remove the riving knife and the model I purchased did not have a riving knife cutout. So I basically broke the insert with the force of the knife pushing up from the bottom, pushed the pieces into the blade and threw them through my magazine. (PS. Always stand next to the blade so your stupid mistakes don't affect your chest with speed). The second one I bought, I bought correctly and didn't repeat the same mistakes. And the thing is great. Significantly cleaner cuts and this allows my dust bag to keep more dirt in the saw than on the table. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • GOLS certification
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
