I probably should have just spent more for better quality

I have just joined my local volunteer fire department and decided to order my signal light bar so it will be ready for use when I get my branding on my truck. I'm on a tight budget so I tried to buy the best option at the lowest price and that seemed to do it. I've read a lot of reviews and I wish I'd ignored a review I saw about how weak the magnets on this thing are. You are terrible. I literally just got it and don't have a custom number plate yet, so I haven't driven it yet, but I won't until I have stronger magnets to hold it on the roof of my truck. To test the strength of the magnets I attached it to a gun cabinet and it takes no effort to pull it out. I removed one of the rubber plugs over the bracket where the magnets are placed and each leg has four magnets the size of a 2016 CR battery (maybe a hair less nickel). There's no way on earth this streak of light wouldn't fly off the roof of my truck at over 70mph, not to mention the extreme weather conditions. Also, one of the mounts was slightly bent, allowing only three of the legs to make contact with a flat metal surface. I would try to bend the clamp but overall the device is quite fragile and I wouldn't want to over tighten it. I plugged the unit into my cigarette lighter and I will say the light seems bright but then again I was only 2ft from the LEDs so one would hope that from this close range they would be bright. The reviews I've read about the cable being too short also apply to anyone driving a full size truck. There is a wire harness 1/3 of the way from the light bar to the power plug. I'm also sorry I couldn't get one with a better flash mode selector switch than the plug that fits your 12V outlet. It should be functional if it can withstand repeated use after I install the new magnets on the legs. Your mileage may vary but I would suggest looking for a different device and please be sure to read the reviews and pay attention otherwise be a beta tester for you lol
