I already sewed the covers and I wanted to add them to my 1967 Cougar. It has aftermarket Grant handlebars and the grips are pretty thick. I really liked that not only do they come in different diameters, but they also have a +/- size for different grip diameters. So it happened that after careful measurement with a flexible measuring hose I decided on size M. I found it easier to measure the circumference of the steering wheel and divide it by pi to get the diameter of the steering wheel. The flexible band also helps to get a very accurate grip diameter measurement. It was easy to follow the instructions on the sheet that came with the lid. I followed them verbatim, but I understand there are other types of stitches that can be made. In fact, the package contained two needles and two spools of thread. One was more than enough for the job, but it would have been nice to have an extra one in case I messed something up. I installed mine with the suede side out. It probably won't wear as well as the leather side, but I like the way it looks and feels in my hands. It was such a good product that I bought another one for my truck.
