Review on C2G 01927 Modular Straight Through Coupler by Adam Gambel

Running a second CAT cable through the wall, around the chimney etc etc saved me hours of work because I had to connect two electronic devices to it two router outputs to another room. It's not a "splitter" - it plugs into the (single) existing flush mount cable at its male end and sends the output of 4 wires to one socket and the other 4 to another (for most networking applications only). 4 wires are needed anyway) in the right order to transmit IP signals. Presto, the equivalent of 2 cables in a wall of one! However, I don't understand (I don't think I'm a network engineer) why the 8-wire connector is male and the 4-wire connector is female. I had to use 4 short jumper cables (2 on each female end) and 2 RJ45 patch cords on each male end to do what I just described above. But apparently nobody makes this device in this reversed configuration, which seems more logical for these things. So if you have the same problem, buy 4 short CAT cables and two F/F RJ45 connectors.
