Review on First Sewing Craft Kit by ALEX Toys by Kaushik Hall

Cheap, flimsy and oh so disappointing!

My daughters wanted to learn to sew and I loved the idea of this product - a fun, colorful kit that includes small sewing projects and everything you need to sew (needles, pins, tape measure, tape, pincushion, etc. ) However, the product itself was very cheap and extremely disappointing. I have purchased sewing supplies from the Dollar Store that are far superior in quality to these items. While I don't really mind a plastic thimble and cheap little scissors (since they're made for little hands anyway), I don't mind that both the needle threader and one of the needles broke (in half!) on day one to use , and also that the tape measure is just paper! Yes, it also broke (accidentally) and deteriorated on day one. I was also disappointed with the packaging it came in. Although it looked so cute online, it's actually just a colorfully designed box so won't last long. The lid doesn't stay open as there are no actual hinges to hold it open - just a crease in the scored cardboard. put it away when you're done) you might like it. But it seemed pretty pricey for a set that was meant to be thrown away once you're done with the projects included. Of course, I bought this with the expectation that it would be my child's first proper sewing kit, which is definitely not the case. I ended up throwing this item away as soon as my kids finished the included projects and we went to a real sewing store and bought a real beginners sewing kit for literally half the price of this item.
