Hub connected to Asus Win 8.1 Pro laptop via USB 3 port. Read and write access from the laptop hard drive to the Passport 3 USB stick on the hub. Tried to insert a Kingston 32GB SD card, worked initially. I was able to copy files from SD card to Passport drive and (from SD to laptop hard drive at 50MB/s). The reading speed on SD is 80 MB/s. However, after several tests with only 1 device connected to the hub at a time, the SD card was not long in coming. I used the USB drive removal menu carefully when disconnecting devices. I was able to insert the SD card directly into the laptop's card reader and had no trouble recognizing it. So the answer is - not good as an SD card reader.
