Great idea, but it didn't work for us.
My almost 2 year old is at a stage where he can't brush his teeth well on his own but doesn't want anyone else to brush for him. I thought it would help us, but it didn't. He loves a book but still cries when anything is near his mouth, even a small brush. I'm still trying but have gone back to other toothbrushes and toothpastes to see what works. I can't turn down this idea though and I'm glad it's working for other kids!
