Prefer different types of collars
This particular type of collar does not work as well as those that compress and shorten greatly when the dog pulls. I have a pit mix that responds very well to small dogs and doesn't bother them at all. This may be because the pinching is more consistent with this collar compared to other short collars (they can be adjusted to hang comfortably and not bother the dog when not pulling). It's either that or my dog is just a little crazy and pain tolerant.
