This is a very useful HDMI splitter that does a lot more than split one HDMI output between two monitors. It upscales 4K resolution to 1080P (useful for streaming) and lets you extract audio in both analog and digital form. The device also has a USB connector that makes the serial port visible to your computer. You can then use terminal software (like Putty) to access the serial port and set up the device's EDID to show on the HDMI input. There are about 30 options and you can always use the 'copy' function to pass the EDID from output 1 to input. Type EZH and then press Enter for help (serial number settings: 57600, 8N1; look for the COM port number in Windows Device Manager). The device is very robust in an aluminum housing. The power connector is a barrel-shaped connector with a locking ring to keep it from falling out if you accidentally pull it (a nice feature found on pricier AV gear). If you need an HDMI splitter with audio extraction or downscaling function, this is a good choice. . I also checked the comments in the description about HDCP.
