Review on Chef Prosentials Automatic Temperature Stainless by Paul Powell

Chinese garbage from the bun steamer - Chef Essentials.

I bought this from aliexpress.com and they are the worst company in terms of customer service. There is no phone number to call and you have to communicate through their chat platform. It wouldn't be so bad if their chat connection didn't drop anymore or if only one person could handle the communication. For example, in yesterday's chat conversation, I must have been talking to 8+ sales reps for almost an hour — and got nowhere to fix an issue with my faulty bun steamer, as shown here. I've only been using this steamer for a week and it has been problem after problem. On the first day of use, the low water level buzzer went on for no reason. There was still enough water in the tank. The thermostat light was on, but steam was still being produced. The thermostat will then no longer work, no matter what temperature you have set it to. Even at its lowest temperature, water still produced steam at its highest temperature. I tried turning off the power with the toggle switch, not realizing that didn't work either. Eventually, all the water boiled away, leaving an empty tank, a glowing element, and smoke. I thought the steamer would catch fire. In addition to contacting aliexpress.com, I was also told to write to the seller. Eric Chang who I communicated with via the messaging platform on aliexpress is not helpful. After numerous endless messages, he wanted me to take a picture of the broken bun steamer. First, if the device has no physical damage, no one will photograph such problems. If a door or other part was broken, then a photo could show that damage. Now Eric Chan wants to disassemble and diagnose the device himself. I have a business and I urgently need a bun steamer! I spent four days chatting endlessly with Eric Chan and aliexpress.com. I strongly DO NOT recommend buying from Chef Essentials and aliexpress.com. I have tried to get a full refund or a replacement steamer. After this horrible experience with Chef Essentials and Eric Chan and aliexpress.com I don't want a replacement. If I had bought it from Amazon, perhaps the situation could have been handled differently. But I will never buy another Chef Essentials product again. Is my Bun Steamer out of warranty? I thought I had a year. Apparently not. Buy from Chef Essentials at your own risk. And certainly not to do business with Eric Chan. I am not sure if he is the owner or what role he plays in the company. Pictured are buns thrown in the bin after being overcooked by a malfunctioning bun steamer.
